Previously, in my first blog, I asked some very important questions .... just to cover these again -
First, ask yourself these questions:- these are about YOU.
What is it that YOU want to do?
What excites you and gets your passions fired up?
What are you good at?
Now : -These are about your MARKET, Customers.
Who is your target audience/market?
What do they need, want or don't want?
How can you help them find their solution?
The reason the answers to these questions is so important is
that there is no point in trying to do something that you are not happy with,
or comfortable about, or enjoy doing, as it shows in everything you do.
if you do not know what your customer needs, wants or doesn't want,
then you cannot provide a product or solution for what they need.
The most important thing you need to remember is ...... be yourself...
when you are talking with your customer, you want to be genuinely friendly
and helpful, and the best way to find out what your customer wants, or
doesn't want, is to ask questions and listen to what they are telling you.
If your first priority is to be there for your customer,
that you are genuinely interested in them and in helping them,
then you will certainly be able to help them - they will tell you what they
want, and if you can provide that to them, then you have a win-win situation!
Ask yourself, - what kind of approach you would like when you are looking for
something from a sales-person?
Think about it for a minute ....... you want help, you want the other person
to understand what you are looking for, you want a solution to your problem,
or need, or want.
When you meet someone who is really interested
in understanding what you need, and they are able to help you
get exactly what you are looking for , you feel SO relieved
to find that 'thing' (whatever it was !)
that you feel gratitude toward that person who helped you.......and
you feel like you have friend, a really helpful friend, who you know you can go back
to any other time for help when you need it again....
